West Coast Training offers instruction in basic firearms handling, use and safety, self-defense, competition, and how to maintain your pistol, revolver or rifle.
We provide training in small groups or individual, one-to-one, instruction at very affordable rates.
Our training is conducted at the Prado Olympic Shooting Park in Chino, California and other ranges in Orange County. Prado Shooting Park is only minutes from anywhere in Orange County, about 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles. This unique facility combines outdoor shooting bays with a covered uprange area. We have the advantages of fresh air and, sunlight,
combined with a covered up-range area to get out of the generally mild weather.
West Coast Training is currently offering:

Basic Handgun - Introduction to handgun safety, pistol, revolver and range nomenclature, handling, marksmanship and maintenance. You will progress from how to load and fire a single shot to timed and rapid fire. At the end of this course you will be ready to take the California Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) test. The HSC requires an additional filing charge.

Basic Competition - How to get started in shooting matches. Even if you don't have a need to compete there are some reasons to consider entering a local club match. Most shooting ranges do not allow drawing from a holster, rapid fire, engaging multiple targets, steel targets or shooting and moving. Some people enjoy comparing their performance against a standard measure. Any or all of these activities are available during a match. This course will cover the etiquette of entering a match, the rules, what will be expected of you and some of the special skills. This course is designed to teach you how to enter your first match and have fun, without embarrassing yourself.

Basic Self Defense with a Handgun - Includes tactics, shooting techniques for; multiple targets, realistic ranges, use of cover, movement. Also included in this course is a discussion of the legal and moral considerations concerning the use of lethal force. Revolver or pistol as best choice will also be discussed.

Basic Firearm Maintenance - Field strip, clean. inspect, lubricate and assemble your firearm. Includes discussion of tools, techniques, cleaning solutions and lubricants

Basic Rifle - Introduction to rifle shooting. This course includes rifle handling, safety, range terms, rifle nomenclature and marksmanship. Includes bench rest, standing (offhand), kneeling, sitting, and prone positions, sling use.

Intermediate Handgun - Safely draw and re-holster, multiple targets, move and shoot, shoot while moving, cover, concealment.

Low Light Shooting - Covers low ambient light and flashlight techniques.
